British Culture

Hi! We are Gabriel and Javier and we want talk about the British Culture.
First, we are going to speak about the  monuments of London. 
Monuments:

The Tower of London:
Is one of the principal tourist attractions of the English capital, and is that this strength, which dates back of century The XIth, it is a formidable complex composed by the strength, a palace, dungeons, chapels and several museums that they live in his seven hectares. In addition, the Tower of London encloses a great exchequer in his interior, the famous Jewels of the Crown, the great attraction together with the monumental complex in yes. In his long history, the Tower of London has been the castle most been afraid of England, a place of execution, torture and imprisonment. Also it has fulfilled other functions as Royal palace, arsenal, strength, Royal National Mint, menagerie, jeweler's shop and nowadays an important tourist enclave.










BIG BEN:
It is possible to say the history of the Big Ben that it begins in 1834 with the fire of the old palace of Westminster when pipe of being reconstructed by Charles Barry, who designed it following the Gothic Victorian style, giving him to the tower a height of something more about 96 meters of height. As for the clock, his mechanism would be constructed in 1854, though it would not be until 1858 when it would be installed in the tower, and in 1859 it was working already. As curiosity and to there be done an idea of the dimensions of the clock, to say that the minutehand measures 4 meters, and that every number has a height of way metro.





















Trafalgar Square

Constructed to commemorate Trafalgar's Battle in which the British navy won to the navies French and Spanish opposite to the coasts of Cadiz, Spain. The original name was a square of Guillermo IV, but George Ledwell Taylor suggested to change the name.
 In the north zone of the square the royal stables placed from the epoch of Eduardo I, whereas in the southern part the original Charing Cross was. Nowadays Charing Cross is considered to be the heart of London and from her all the distances measure up.
 In 1820, the king Jorge IV entrusted to John Nash the urbanization of the zone. The current architecture of the square owes Charles Barry to itself and it was finished in 1845.
 The square is a habitual place of political manifestations and is the place on the one that raises Nelson's column.















                                                      
SPORTS OF UNITED KINGDOM

 Next we are to speak about the sports in the british culture.
There are many sports in United Kingdom, but the most popular sport in the UK is association football, the rules of which were first codified in England in 1863, and the UK has the oldest football clubs in the world. The home nations all have separate national teams and domestic competitions, most notably England's Barclays Premier League and FA Cup, and the Scottish Premier League and Scottish Cup. The first ever international football match was between Scotland and England in 1872. The English Premier League is the most-watched football league in the world, and its biggest clubs include Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea. Scotland's Celtic and Rangers also have a global fanbase.
Other sports are the cricket, the golf, the rugby.

CUISINE:
And finally we are to speak about the cuisine.
Since the Early Modern Period the food of England has historically been characterised by its simplicity of approach, honesty of flavour, and a reliance on the high quality of natural produce. During the Middle Age and through the Renaissance period, English cuisine enjoyed an excellent reputation, though a decline began during the Industrial Revolution with the move away from the land and increasing urbanisation of the populace. The French sometimes referred to English people as les rosbifs, as a stereotype to suggest English food is unsophisticated or crude. 

Traditional examples of English food ; is usually beeflamb or chicken, served with  vegetables, Yorkshire pudding and gravy.Other meals include fish and chips and the full English breakfast—consisting of bacon, grilled tomatoes, fried bread. .                                                                                                                                                                                        Apple Pie:
An apple pie on a red table cloth, with green apples next to it.Sausages are commonly eaten, either as bangers and mash or toad in the hole. Some of the most popular cheeses are Cheddaran Wensleydale.
